Why did Brooklyn create Blessed by Brooklyn?
After practicing law and teaching for 20 years, Brooklyn took a leap of faith into entrepreneurship and created the The Belk Attorneys, a brand focused on the journey in partnership with her fellow attorney and professor spouse. But shortly after launching that brand, Brooklyn felt an unshakable urging that she believed by faith was the Holy Spirit leading her to combine her faith and unique testimony with her knowledge of the law to help people before legal trouble arises, so she paused in obedience.
Never afraid of change, Brooklyn heeded that still small voice and embraced the figurative drawing board.
Brooklyn’s life-both personal and professional-experience taught her that many people are broken, hurt, and hopeless in one area or another, which often results in dreams deferred and disputes that play out in the legal system.
But, through faith, she knows there’s a better way. Her experience taught her that challenges can be overcome and legal disputes should be resolved outside the legal system.
From that divine encounter, Brooklyn birthed Blessed By Brooklyn sharing her fierce focus that when we Give An F on Faith, Family, Finances, Fitness, Fun, Faculty, & Fearlessness we win at life, as well as all the lessons she’s learned from working with thousands of people over decades. Law Enforcement Training: Brooklyn has worked with law enforcement throughout her career. Leveraging her years as a federal prosecutor and a civilian deputy chief of police, Brooklyn teaches law enforcement officers how to strategically draft reports and affidavits as well as clear and concise testimony that is effective and ethical.
Community Engagement: Brooklyn has spent her career working with diverse communities and has created initiatives that fosters positive engagement across differences and builds thriving and sustainable networks.
